Description
The TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) 11 & 12 is a premier, comprehensive academic assessment designed to measure the foundational reading, math, and language skills adult learners need to succeed in their careers and everyday lives. Aligned with College and Career Readiness (CCR) standards, this updated assessment helps educators evaluate learner progress and make informed decisions for educational and workforce training programs.
- Core Subject Areas: Tests are divided into three primary subjects: Reading, Mathematics, and Language. Vocabulary and spelling are seamlessly integrated into these sections to provide a cohesive approach to language arts.
- Adaptive Difficulty Levels: The test uses five difficulty levels known as LEMDA (Literacy, Easy, Medium, Difficult, and Advanced) to accurately pinpoint a learner’s exact proficiency.
- Flexible Delivery Methods: Available in both traditional paper-and-pencil and computer-based formats via the DRC Insight platform. The online version features technology-enhanced items such as drag-and-drop and multiple-select questions.
- Accessibility Tools: Computer-based testing includes built-in accommodations like adjustable font sizes, text-to-speech, masking, and test-specific tools such as rulers and calculators.
- Workforce Compliance: Results help adult education and workforce programs meet the rigorous expectations of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
