The GED® testing programme serves as a South African High School pass equivalent.
The GED® stands for General Education Development.
The GED® measures the lasting outcomes from secondary school syllabus of study.
The GED® test completion certificate portrays the recipient with the same level of academic achievement as a secondary school graduate.
SAQA evaluates the GED® as a NQL4 and this allows for better opportunities and allows for studying with South African universities as well as worldwide due to its international recognition.
The test is completed on a computer.
The GED® is on par with the High School levels. It is the same difficulty level needed to pass High School.
The GED® is scored by a computer. The passing standard for each subject has been set at a score of 145 on a scale of 100-200 scaled score.
Within a time frame of 24hrs.
There is a Once off registration fee of R 2800, this includes all study material.
The GED® testing service has created an age requirement of 17, which was implemented on the first of April 2019.
You are permitted to take the test twice without a waiting period. After the second attempt there is a 60 day waiting period. There is a test fee attached to such a rewrite.
Students are required to provide their I.D which is not expired.
